Diego Forlán Sketch

Diego Forlán Sketch

Here's my Diego Forlán Sketch for this world cup!!!

Diego Forlán, the ace striker from Uruguay, is my favorite footballer from the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He's played undoubtedly brilliant this year leading his team all the way to semi-finals. He is supported by a talented set of Uruguayan players on both his flanks. The Uruguayan team is has been in top form this year, and had it not been for unfortunate incidents, such as their talented players Luis Suárez and Diego Lugano forced out of the matches, they could've easily claimed their hands on the world cup trophy without a shadow of doubt. This is a team that lacks stars and world-famous players, but plays exceptionally well just by their love for football. Uruguay plays the game with their heart and soul and it shows when they are on field. Never have I seen boys playing football with such great passion! They live and die alone for football.

Diego Forlán Hails from the City of Montevideo in Uruguay. He was born into a family of great Uruguayan footballing champions. His father Pablo Forlán was a famous Uruguayan footballer and gained many honors for his country. His son Diego, followed the path laid out by his father, and came to be a great clinical striker. Forlán’s unique talent has earned the Golden Boot Award from Europe twice.

Forlán currently plays for the club Atlético Madrid in La Liga. Forlán had started out his career with Atlético Independiente. He was off for a great start, and after 4 years of skilled play had moved on to EPB big gun Manchester United. Forlán wasn’t able to achieve the form he would have otherwise desired with Manchester United and he eventually moved on to the Spanish Club Villarreal from La Liga. In the first season with Villarreal, Forlán scored 25 goals. He came about to win the Pichichi Trophy. He blazed through and a shining career in Villarreal. After 2 more years with the Spanish League, he then moved on to join Atlético Madrid. He became the league's top scorer, and became the second player to with the Pichichi Trophy twice.

Forlán has played exceptionally well in the 2010 world cup, and has been the beacon who has led the Uruguayan team all the way to the semi finals. He had scored plenty of goals, and has been instrumental in play making many more. He is flanked by great talents such as Suarez, Lugano and Sebastián “El Loco” Abreu. Abreu will be retiring from professional football as he had said before the world cup. He is old tired, burdened with many injuries, but surely one of the finest Uruguayan footballers the world as seen. His experience played a important role in motivating the team towards victory. His penalty kick against Ghana is probably the calmest Penalty Kick I’ve ever seen. He has been nick named 'El Loco Abreu' for the antiques he usually does, on and off field.

Forlán is and always be on the top of my list of all time footballing wizards.
